About the Tour Leader
Mrs. Gaythri Devi, one of the pioneering women wildlife photographers from Tamil Nadu, hails
from
Pollachi and pursued her education in the Nilgiris—both regions renowned for their rich
biodiversity. Her early exposure to such vibrant natural surroundings ignited a passion for
photography, which later evolved into a successful career spanning over 20 years. Throughout
her
journey, she has explored most of India’s wildlife sanctuaries and even photographed Kenya
(Masaimara, Amboseli and few other parks), a dream destination for wildlife
photographers.
As a government-certified trainer, she shares her expertise with enthusiasts, amateurs, and
professionals alike. She also leads Tiger Scouts, a tour company that specializes in
wildlife and photography learning tours. Her work has been featured in numerous prestigious
magazines, and she was honored as the Wildlife Photographer of the Year in 2017 by the
International Camera Fair. Most recently, she won the Tamil Nadu Tourism Photography Contest
in 2023. Mrs. Gaythri Devi continues to inspire budding photographers to pursue their
passion in this field.
